[Accepted] Iroh - Marksman hunter
Personal Information

Name:James O'Brien

Age: 27

Nationality: Irish

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Currently working as a HR specialist in a US multinational. been playing wow since the end of Vanilla but we can talk more about that later.
American football player and general shitty person.

Character Information

Name: Iroh

Class: Hunter - Marksman

Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/th...B6h/simple

Mainspec: Marksman

Offspec: Hunters have an off spec?! Survival I guess, since every guild needs a least one retard playing with a bucket on their head

Why do you play this class and role? DPS - its what I am most comfortable with, I healed in Wrath and my heart doesnt like the strain.

Explain your reasoning behind your character choices (why did you pick your current talents and what gearing/stat priority do you go for) C

Currently the one of the best consistant top dps classes for ranged with a forgiving rotation.
Talents are cookie cutter since hunters doesnt really have much choice.

Tell us a little bit about your raiding experience:

Raided all TBC as a mage up to M'uru at which point everyone burnt out and the guild shrivelled up like a grape in the sun. Hand Of A'dal yo!

Healed in Wrath as a Paladin up to and including ICC

DPS with a mage and raid lead a little for Cata, but the expansion overall wasnt enjoyable to I ended up PVPing after the first teir of raids (what a terrible time that was)

Took a break in Cata nd came back to Pandaland late into the expansion. Played all specs of the monk (not LFR- just normal clears with a mates guild)

WOD - There was raiding in WOD?! Seriosuy though I just did LFR, had no interest in the WOD raids for some reason.

What makes you a valuable asset to a raiding team?
I dont stand in the fire, I played a frost mage for the Illidan fight so I know how to NOT fuck up and wipe the raid on phase 4.
I go off and read tactics (I miss tankspot)
And staying alive to dps later is more important that dpsing now to keep "MUH METERS HIGH" and dying like a scrub with a bucket on their head. (hint hint thats a reference to my survival hunter joke)

What steps do you take to ensure you play your class to the full extent of its capabilities?
Flasks, food, enchants when I can afford.
Keep up to date with patch news.
Experiment when needed.

Do you have a functioning microphone? Yes and you will regret that.

Are you familiar using Teamspeak? Yes

Why do you wish to join Aetherium? Looking for a competent guild to work on the more challenging content of Legion. There's nothing like beating your head against a boss for days and finally getting it down.

How did you come across our Guild? Recommended by my friend Melyssan (wat a stupid name, might as well as have called himself Malaysian)
Heya, thanks for the application. I have a few questions though.

''Explain your reasoning behind your character choices (why did you pick your current talents and what gearing/stat priority do you go for)''
What is your current gearing/stat priority and why?

''Flasks, food, enchants when I can afford.''
What do you mean with this? You should be able to always afford gems, enchants and food. If you are not able to afford these you should not be aiming to raid Myhthic content.

Hi Yserea,

Thanks for the follow up.

For stats and gearing. I have now hit a point where ilvl jumps of 5 are no longer a priority.
Mastery > Agi > haste are now what I am trying to stack. Mastery being the #1 prioroty.

As for gearing. I have had to resort to LFR, world quests and heroics to get to 846. Since people just wont take a sub 850 dps on mythics in pugs.

In regards to the gold situation I have started leveling Alchemy to cover all flasks and pots.
And cooking is on the list to level as well. with the Nomi recipes at 2 stars mostly.
Gems and enchants I am currently saving since the items that I sub 850 are not worth the cost of enchanting/blue gems as they can be too easily replaced. Green gems are always added to slots. But I will save the blues for +850.
If it does look look like I will be stuck with certain gear then I will upgrade the gems/enchants

If I do ever run short of gold, I have no qualms buying a token and flipping it on the AH.
Currently your gear is a bit on the low side, especially for Mythic content. Are you willing but most of all able to get that sorted within a reasonable amount of time, for example by running a ton of Mythic+ dungeons?

Just to give you an example, most people in our guild are ilvl 865+ by now, significantly higher than you.

Hi Yserea,

I currently have a week off from work and no plans.
So a week of Mythic + sounds like a blast.

Just give me a time, place and a crew and I'll be delighted.
Oh and pugs.

Why do I always forget the pugs?

Might be the rejection Q_Q
But yeah doing those when I can.

Also I do have a shaman with better gear atm, as an expample of the effort I do go to with characters.

Amd I dont expect to be carried into gear.
If i dont get a piece I dont mind, I can wait another week. and work for it again
TBC raiding taught me to be patient.
Accepted. However, your gear is a bit on the low side right now. We won't b able to fit you into our Mythic raids straight away, but if you're willng to make the effort to gear yourself through Mythic+ (join Teamspeak to make guild groups!), then hopefully we can take you along in the not so distant future.

Contact me ingame for a guild invite.
