Personal Information

Name: James Lowndes

Age: 23

Nationality: English

Battletag: Mystikk#2812

Tell us a little bit about yourself, who are you, what do you do etc.

Hey guys!
My name is James Lowndes, I am a Student at Birmingham University in my 3rd year studying Sport Science. I own my own freelance S&C company and enjoy Rugby and Ice Hockey. While I'm not active and want to chill I enjoy gaming (Obviously Tongue

Character Information

Name: Mystikk

Class: Retribution

Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/charac...rn/mystikk

Mainspec (artifact traits): 76

Offspec (artifact traits):

Why do you play this class and role?
I enjoy the control and survivability of a retridin, while it offers a simple, yet constructive dps stile that allows for strong burst dps and a solid single target with high sustain.

Explain your reasoning behind your character choices (why did you pick your current talents and what gearing/stat priority do you go for)
My character choices are as follows:
BiS Legendaries, with options of Belt or Cloak depending on fight (With ring being very valuable in current patch)
My relics are lower on item level but have BiS crucible traits
I am above my hard cap on Haste (31.25% to allow for the 8 second window of Judgement to be up 100% of the time)
Mastery is very strong now with the damage from Greater Judgement so having as much as possible is also a benefit

Give us some examples of how your class and/or talent choices makes you more valuable on specific encounters.
Mythic Encounters:
Having a Bubble soak is always useful for certain abilities or one shot mechanics that would otherwise kill me and/or multiples
PK - Wake of Ashes for adds (with Blinding Light talent for AoE interupt)
Kings/Wisdom - For healers and Tanks
BoP - When needed for high damage situations

Raiding

Tell us a little bit about your raiding experience:
I raided full time back in WotLK and CATA being very successful in world top 50 guilds but due to real life commitments had to step down from hardcore raiding as I got older. Came back to the game properly just back at ToS, managed to raid Mythic for both tiers so far, getting 4/9M ToS and 4/11M Antorus. I was the raidleader for my guild in Antorus, giving me valuable knowledge for the whole raid, forming strats for everything up to Argus on M.

What makes you a valuable asset to a raiding team?
I come prepared with knowledge of all fights on Mythic, I am calm and always looking to improve.

What steps do you take to ensure you play your class to the full extent of its capabilities?
I spend time simming my character to always improve from gearsets and theory crafting new gear and ideas for optimal dps. I keep up with current forums and speak with other paladins to share knowledge.

What will your attendance be, can we rely on you to be there for progression? Are there any factors that may impede you to attend that we should know about?
Unless told otherwise to to RL plans (Holidays and such) I will have 100% attendance on your raiddays

Are you familiar with being in a Mythic raiding guild and the environment. Are you familiar with rotating people and ”benching”’. What are your thoughts on this?
I ran a mythic guild for sometime.. not only am I familiar with it.. I ran it haha

Please provide logs showing your competence as a player. If you don’t have any logs, please explain why.

Miscellaneous

Do you have a functioning microphone? Y

Are you familiar using Teamspeak? Y

Why do you wish to join Aetherium?
For the amount of time and days you raid, you are productive, competitive and have very solid progress. Something I want to be involved in as best I can.

How did you come across our Guild?
Wow progress

Last but not least

Why should we be accepting you to the guild? What makes you a better investment than other applicants? Sell yourself to us.
I love to be social, laugh joke and kill bosses.. what more do you need ;Wink

Hey man,

Are you tracking your holy power with anything? You're wasting 25-35 holy power per boss, that's 10+ Templars Verdicts.
This should be close to <5

Hey man, for example on the PK fight I was downstairs allocated to imp stunning so was obviously worrying about the mass aoe stun not the rotation for dps. The other fights are better in terms of wastage obviously taking into account legendary ring procs and the like.

Alright, what about the Felhounds fight then.
At 7.8 seconds you waste 2 HP on Wake of Ashes.
At 2:24 you overcap it by 4.
At 3:45 you waste the whole 5 holy power from Ashes cause you were at 5 HP already.
And that's just Wake of ashes.

The same happens on garothi, a simple single target fight .
at 41 seconds you wasted 4 again , you were at 3 hp right before this, why not TV and wake for a full 5 hp?
at 1:17 you waste 2 , you were at 2 HP , why not Crusader strike , TV and then wake for full 5 hp?
at 1:58 you waste 3
at 2:31 you waste 2
a 3:47 you waste another 2. etc

Another random aggramar log where you waste the whole 5 hp from wake, twice.

That's alooot of holy power wasted, on just 1 ability.
It's generally fine if you overcap hp by 1 sometimes, but not 2-5.
Maybe you can upload a picture of your ui?

Here's a garothi and hounds from me, you can see the difference.

Hey mate, I appreciate your critical analysis of my dps and it does highlight some discrepancies. One of the main reasons I can think of is I was raid leading a "testing" raid team that required alot of babysitting. If you look at my dps when not raid leading my old raid team it is drastically different ? it seems like a weak excuse but did play a massive roll in my subtle mistakes. I hope this highlights some of the reasons why
